This shot, Sunrise through the trees, was taken in a forest near Sandringham in Norfolk.
It was one of those times when I was glad I couldn’t sleep!
We were on a camping holiday and I’d just had the night from hell on an airbed…
It just kept going down after several attempts at blowing it back up!
And we could’ve done with a shoe horn to get my husband and I out of the clutches of the airbed (one of those double height ones – thought it’d be more comfy!)
We’re talking major roll together!
A walk with my camera
So once extracted from said airbed at about 5 o’clock in the morning. I decided to go for a wander in the nearby forest…
The sun had just come up. So I walked a little way along the path and saw the sun lighting up these ferns, which just looked gorgeous.
To get a nicer angle I went a little way off the path… Although, it seemed like a good idea at the time…
Top Tip – Crocs (you know those plastic shoes with the holes in!) should not be your footwear of choice in a prickly pine forest!
What do they say about suffering for your art?
Anyway, I’m very pleased that I captured those ferns bathed in sunlight, just how it felt at the time…
…but I should’ve taken a picture of my feet. Covered in scratches after extracting the twigs that had lodged themselves in the holes in my crocs!
What can I say I was half asleep…
It was worth it – Sunrise through the trees is special.
