Lighthouse Reflection

Mandy Photography Tips Leave a Comment

I took this shot of a Lighthouse reflection, back in the good old days when all I had was a cheap point and shoot.

I love the quote from Chase Jarvis  “The Best Camera Is The One That’s With You” – so true.

But really wished he’d added always wear decent shoes?

I happened to go past this lighthouse on the way home from dropping the kids off at school, and saw that the tide was out.

I knew the shot I wanted so jumped out of the car with camera in hand and …..wearing flip-flops…..

After getting onto the beach I then started to negotiate the algae seaweed covered. And yes extremely slippy rocks to get to the lighthouse.

Not to mention the huge puddles and sometimes small rivers I had to cross that had been left by the outgoing tide. Can’t complain though as one of them made the lovely reflection!

It was worth it when I got there! Because I then saw the lovely reflection.

I took a lot of different shots, but I think this is my favourite.

Then I realised I had to go back again!

Said flip-flops and feet were a little worse for wear when I got home – thankfully in one piece.

Moral of the story and point to remember – always take good walking shoes with the best camera that you have with you!
