I know it can take a while to adjust when moving from a point and shoot camera to a DSLR. So I’ve put these tips and resources together (in no particular order) for photographers who are just starting out with DSLR’s, although I’m sure they are a good reminder for all of us.

The picture quality has improved tremendously with the use of SLR camera. Resolution, speed, extra creative control of SLR camera and enhanced comfort in the hand to one of the smallest and lightest digital cameras in its class. Its an owesome feel to use it.

This is such a very helpful and informative post specially for newbies like me. I just bought a new camera and I’m on the process of learning some basic shots particularly with different light settings and a lot of other stuffs.

Excellent resource list here. We really found the 6 steps on the “Find the Best Digital SLR Lens” resource really helpful. Lenses can really make or break a great shoot and was quite overwhelming when we first got started!

Hi Mandy, these resources along with your inspirational quotes truly makes this blog a must read. It has all the basic info that a photography enthusiast would need.. without getting intimidated of course.. my photography has reached many notches higher jus by following your tips and tricks (note: just with a point and shoot + post production, yes u made me comfortable that P&S cams are still not that bad) .. and ya.. i opened a flicker ac as per ur suggestion.. it has inspired to take this interest of mine into a hobby.. have a look at my flicker account, any suggestion is most welcomed .. thx.. I am new and would like to get some advice. i have stuck by my trusty d40 camera for quite a while now, but it has finally given up on me. I would love if anyone has any suggestions for what dslr i should purchase next? Like this Canon EOS Rebel SL1. I am studying photography at university, and i can spend up to £1000. Please help!
